The feet of these racks clamp directly around the rail. During installation, follow the enclosed instructions for the selected set, where you will find the recommended spacing and tightening procedure.
If you plan to transport a roof box, bicycle racks, or ski holders that you already have at home, consider their mounting method. Different crossbars offer different bar shapes.
Accessories are usually secured into aluminum bars with a T-slot using T-bolts, while classic square bars use U-bolts that clamp around the carrier from below. Before buying, verify the compatibility of your holders and check the package contents directly in the detail of the selected product.
The Formentor has a sporty silhouette, but with a loaded cargo, you must account for a higher center of gravity and a change in the total height. Be especially careful when entering underground garages or driving under low shelters.
If your car is equipped with an opening sunroof, check the vehicle manual to see if the equipment prohibits operating the roof with a mounted rack. Do not forget to include the crossbars themselves, the box, and all transported luggage in the total roof load limit, which can also be found in your car manual.
