The W212 generation covers production years 2009 to 2016. For boundary years, please check your vehicle's registration certificate. In 2009, the older generation W211 ended, and during 2016 the newer generation W213 arrived. Both have different roof profiles and kits from the W212 will not fit them.
Crossbars serve as a base for additional equipment. If you already have a roof box or bicycle carriers at home, check their mounting method to the crossbar profile, as different bar shapes require compatible mounts. Do not forget about the total roof load limit, which can be found in your vehicle manual. This value includes the cargo itself, the weight of the box, and also the weight of the crossbars.
