Choose the roof rack for your Mazda 6 Sedan according to the specific car generation. The mounting method differs between production years and each version requires different feet.
We offer assemblies for two generations of this model. The older first generation Mazda 6 Sedan GG covers the production years from 2002 to 2008. The third generation Mazda 6 Sedan GJ includes vehicles manufactured from 2012 to 2024. The production year stated in your vehicle registration document is decisive.
Both generations differ fundamentally in their mounting type. The GG generation uses fixed points prepared in the roof. The GJ generation has a bare roof design, where the rack does not sit in any points, but is secured behind the door frame using specially shaped clamps. Therefore, assemblies from the GG generation cannot be used on the GJ generation.
The sedan body offers a large trunk, but the narrow loading opening limits the transport of longer items. Crossbars allow you to load a roof box with skis or bicycle carriers without having to fold down the rear seats. Moreover, the sedan is low, so you can comfortably load bikes and luggage into the box from the ground.
