Raised railings are easy to spot at first glance. They stand above the roof level with free space along their entire length between the bar and the car body, allowing you to easily slip your fingers underneath. The rack foot clamps onto this profile.
T-track roof means there is no arch standing above the roof on the car. Instead, you have a metal rail with a T-shaped profile built directly into the roof. The rack is secured by sliding special adapters directly into this groove. Therefore, check your roof before purchasing, as feet designed for railings will not fit a T-track.
The Carnival is a spacious and taller vehicle, which is great for the cabin, but requires good reach when loading the roof. When securing bicycles or loading a cargo box, opening the side sliding doors and stepping on the door sill will help you.
If you plan to drive with a roof box, keep the total vehicle height in mind. You won't notice it during normal driving, but in underground garages or low parking structures, every centimeter matters.
