G21 is the estate version of the 3 Series, production of which started in 2019, and it features flush rails on the roof, meaning those that lie directly on the roof without a gap. The foot anchors into points hidden within the rail, and the fitting kit is specific to this generation.
That you have a Touring, not a sedan. The 3 Series sedan in our offer mounts via fixed points on a smooth roof and belongs to a different category. From the front, these cars are almost indistinguishable and differ only in the roof.
That you have a G21, not an F31. The previous generation F31 was produced until 2019 and also uses flush rails, but with a different spacing of anchoring points. The same type of rail therefore does not mean the same fitting kit; for a car from the transition year, follow the production date.
With flush rails, it's not about a clamp that you can tighten anywhere. The foot fits into specific points and the spacing is fixed, so there is no middle ground. Trying a kit from a similar car and tweaking it is therefore not worth it; for the load you will carry above the heads of other drivers, improvisation is a bad idea.
The 3 Series is driven mostly on the highway, and that is where the difference between a square and a wing-shaped crossbar is most noticeable. Aluminium crossbars with an aerodynamic profile are quieter and have less impact on fuel consumption, while steel ones are cheaper and can withstand rougher handling. If you leave the crossbars on the car even off-season, you will appreciate the quieter profile.
