Mondeo Estate belongs to vehicles where a large trunk is enough for a normal week, but during a family holiday with equipment, the roof comes into play. The choice of crossbars depends on the generation and the type of rails installed on your car.
For older models, we offer setups for MK1/MK2 (1993 to 2000) as well as the transition category 1993 to 2007. The following generation BA7 (2007 to 2014) brought a change in shapes and mounting, while the selection is concluded by the generation MK5 (2014 to 2022).
When determining the generation, follow the production year in your vehicle registration document. The date of first registration may be later than the car's actual production, which is especially important at the boundaries of individual model ranges.
On the Mondeo Estate, you will encounter two roof types. Raised rails stand slightly above the roof and you can easily pass your fingers under them along their entire length. This type occurs in older generations and selected trim levels of the BA7 generation.
Flush rails lie directly on the roof with no gap underneath them. The rack feet attach directly to their profile. You will find this variant on newer versions of the BA7 and on the MK5 generation. Please check your roof in person before ordering, as feet from one rail type will not fit the other.
Thanks to the long roof area, the Mondeo Estate can also carry a larger roof box without restricting the full opening of the tailgate. Next to a narrower box, there is often space left on the crossbars for a bicycle carrier as well.
