Focus has changed over the years, and with it the options for roof mounting. The second generation Focus MK2 (2004 to 2010) uses fixed points prepared in the roof. With the third generation Focus MK3 (2010 to 2018), you will encounter a bare roof, where the feet rest on the edge of the bodywork. The fourth generation Focus MK4 (2018 to 2025) brings a choice between a bare roof and flush roof rails.
For the fourth generation, the choice depends on the specific roof design. A bare roof has no protrusions on the surface. Flush roof rails lie directly on the roof without a gap and form a continuous line along the sides. A roof rack designed for flush roof rails will not fit a bare roof and vice versa, so please check your car directly before choosing.
