With the L550 generation, you will encounter two roof variants. Raised rails stand above the body surface and you can easily slide your hand between them and the sheet metal along their entire length. In this case, the rack feet clamp directly around them from both the outside and the inside.
The second variant is a bare roof, where you will not find any protruding elements on the surface. A mounting kit with precisely shaped clamps designed for it fits into the door frame and rests on the feet. Always check the exact package contents and mounting method in the specific product detail.
Many Discovery Sports left the factory with a panoramic roof. If your car has a glass roof, check the vehicle's owner's manual before the first installation. Some roof rack setups may restrict the movement of the sunroof when opened, or the car manufacturer may specify specific installation instructions for the glass roof version.
