The body of this model has no raised elements on the roof. The rack feet rest against the edge of the roof and shaped clamps tighten into the door frame area under the weatherstripping.
Before installation, thoroughly wash and degrease the contact points of the feet and clamps. Dust and fine dirt under the rubber pad could damage the vehicle's paint due to vibrations during driving.
Make sure you have the DJ generation hatchback starting production in 2014. The older Mazda 2 DY had different frame and door contours, therefore kits between these versions are not interchangeable.
