This generation of the GLC is equipped with flush rails on the roof. You can recognize them by the fact that they lie flat against the roof surface along their entire length, and you cannot slide your hand underneath them. The rack feet attach directly to their profile using custom-shaped clamps.
Generation X254 replaced the previous model produced between 2015 and 2022. Although the older model GLC X253 also features flush rails, the roof shape and rail profile changed with the generational change. The feet and mounting kits from the older vehicle may not fit the newer car.
For vehicles equipped with a panoramic sunroof, read the instructions in the vehicle manual before your first drive. You will find out whether the manufacturer allows the sunroof to be tilted open with the crossbars installed.
