When determining the correct version, follow the production year in your vehicle registration document. The date of first registration or the year of purchase may be shifted, which could lead to choosing the wrong attachment.
Generations D and E use the same mounting principle, which consists of fixing points prepared directly in the vehicle roof. On the other hand, generation F came with a different solution and has a smooth roof without pre-prepared mounting holes.
Feet for a smooth roof rest against the bodywork and hook under the door frame. The exact composition of individual parts and the assembly procedure vary for each manufacturer, so please verify the package contents directly in the detail of the specific product.
A smaller city car has the advantage of a low body height. You can comfortably load bikes or skis from the ground without having to step on the door sills. When choosing a roof box, keep the shorter roof in mind and position it so that you can fully open the trunk lid.
Do not forget to include the crossbars themselves along with the box or carriers in the total roof weight limit stated in the vehicle manual.
