The first generation 308 SW estate opted for a proven solution. There is free space between the rail body and the roof surface, allowing the carrier feet to firmly clamp the rail from both the outside and the inside.
However, a model transition occurred during production in 2014. If you own a car from this year and the roof rails lie flat against the body without a gap, this is already the newer generation 308 SW T9, which requires a different mounting type.
Each manufacturer handles packaging differently. Some sets come in a single package, while for others you choose the load bars and feet separately. Always check the breakdown in the selected product detail to know exactly what you will receive and whether you also need to select locks.
Before attaching the feet, simply wipe road dust off the roof rails. The rubber contact surfaces of the feet will then adhere directly to the clean surface and will not slip.
Crossbars serve as a solid base for additional equipment. If you already own a roof box or bicycle carriers, choose the bar profile according to their mounts. Classic steel square bars work with U-bolts, while aluminum profiles usually allow clean insertion of accessories directly into the T-track in the crossbar.
