The first generation Sharan designated as 7M was produced from 1995 to 2010. The second generation 7N came to the market in 2010 and its production ended in 2022. For cars from 2010, check the registration document for the exact production date or the body shape, as the 7N generation introduced sliding rear doors instead of traditional hinged ones.
On both Sharan generations, you will find raised rails on the roof. They stand above the roof level and you can easily slide your fingers underneath them along their entire length. The rack feet clamp around these rails from both the outside and the inside. However, the specific rail profile and roof width differ between generations 7M and 7N, so it is necessary to select a set designed specifically for your production period.
