Roof racks for Volkswagen T-Roc A1 (from 2017)

Crossbars for the first-generation T-Roc, production of which started in 2017. Only one decision remains and you won't find it in the vehicle registration document or motorization: what type of roof mounting your specific car has. The difference is visible at first glance.

Take a look at the roof from the side

Stand next to the car at roof level and try to slide your fingers under the roof rail.

Your fingers go through and there is a gap under the rail → raised roof rails. The foot clamps around the rail from both top and bottom.
The rail is present but lies flush against the roof without a gap → flush roof rails. The foot anchors into points hidden within the rail and the kit has the specific span designed for the T-Roc.
There is nothing on the roof → bare roof. The rack mounts under the door frame and the kit must be shaped specifically for the T-Roc.

We stock assemblies for all three cases. If you are still not sure after looking, take a side photo of the roof and send it to us; we can determine the type from it.

Before ordering

The production date matters, not the model year. Volkswagen introduced the successor to the T-Roc in 2025 and kits from this generation may not fit a brand new car; if your car is completely new, it is better to contact us in advance. If the car has a panoramic roof, also check the manual to see if and how it limits the installation or opening of the roof with a loaded rack. This is vehicle-specific data and varies by trim level.

Holiday roof box and related matters

Crossbars are the base onto which you then mount a roof box, bicycle holders or ski racks. With a roof box, the car will be slightly higher, which you will notice first in underground garages or when entering low courtyards. If you already have a box, choose the crossbars together with it, because accessories attach to their profile and not every clamp fits every shape. Also, the maximum roof load capacity includes the weight of the box and the crossbars themselves in addition to the cargo; you will find the limit in the car manual, and with a full box, you can get closer to it than you might expect.

Choose the assembly according to the mounting type you found on your roof. Other generations and models can be found under T-Roc and Volkswagen.
