The EVO 6 in this version uses raised rails. You can recognize them by the fact that they stand above the roof level, and you can easily pass your hand between them and the vehicle surface along their entire length. The roof rack feet securely clamp the rail from the side and the bottom during installation.
Each manufacturer handles the mounting mechanism a bit differently. Please check the exact package contents and installation procedure in the detail of the specific product and the enclosed manual.
The roof rack serves as a solid base for additional equipment. If you plan to transport bicycles, skis, or a roof box, pay attention to the mounting method. Accessories are mounted either using U-bolts wrapping around the bar or by sliding bolts into the T-slot in the crossbar.
For aluminum bars, a T-slot is standard, while steel profiles more frequently use external clamps. If you already own bike racks or a box, check their compatibility with your chosen bar profile.
The EVO 6 is among taller cars, and after mounting crossbars with loaded cargo, its height will increase even further. Keep this in mind when entering underground garages, low parking structures, or driving under low branches. Before packing for your trip, check the car's manual to find the permitted roof load limit, as you must include the weight of the crossbars and the box itself within this limit.
