Flush rails or fixed mounting points in the roof

With the Galaxy WA6 model, you will encounter two types of roofs. The first variant is flush rails, which lie directly against the body along their entire length without any gap underneath to put your fingers through.

The second variant is fixed mounting points in the roof. This is a metal track built directly into the roof, into which the mounting feet are inserted using special adapters. This is not the T-track in the crossbar itself, but a mounting element directly on the vehicle. By looking at the roof from above, you can easily determine which of these two solutions your car has.

Watch out for boundary production years

The WA6 generation covers the years 2006 to 2015. If you own a car from the turn of 2005 and 2006, check whether it is not the first generation Galaxy WGR, which used raised rails. For cars from 2015, verify whether you already own the newer generation Galaxy CK, as it uses different mounting kits.

Cargo transport and family vacation

The Galaxy belongs to spacious family cars, but when fully occupied with seven seats, a roof box becomes a necessity. Since the car is taller than a standard station wagon, opening the door and stepping on the sill will help you when installing the box or loading bicycles.

If you already have a box or sports equipment carriers at home, check the compatibility of their mounting with the profile of the selected crossbars. Do not forget to include the crossbars themselves, the empty box, and all the cargo inside in the total roof load capacity; the exact weight limit is stated in your car's manual.
