The F30 generation features factory-prepared fixing points directly in the roof. You will find these mounting points under flip covers that protect the threads from dirt. The rack mounts directly into these locations, which means a fixed distance between the front and rear bar.
Before installing the feet, we recommend cleaning dust and debris from the threads in the fixing points so that the screws seat smoothly. Each rack manufacturer designs feet specifically for this roof shape.
Production of the F30 sedan ran between 2011 and 2019. If you have a car from 2011, check your vehicle registration document to ensure it is not still the older E90 generation from 2005 to 2011. For cars from 2018 or 2019, check whether you already own the newer G20 generation, production of which started in 2018.
The body style is also important. These setups are for the four-door sedan. If you drive the 3 Series Touring estate version, the roof mounting may be different.
Crossbars form the base to which you attach a roof box, bicycle holders, or ski racks. If you already have accessories at home, check how they attach to the bars, as different profiles require different mounting adapters.
