Citroën produced the C4 Picasso in two generations, which differ in their roof design and rack mounting. The first generation UD rolled off the production lines from 2007 to 2013. The second generation B78 was produced from 2013 to 2018. For a correct purchase, the production date stated in the vehicle registration document is decisive, not the date of first registration.
When choosing a rack, what you have on your roof plays the main role. The first generation C4 Picasso UD uses raised rails that stand above the car's surface with a gap underneath along their entire length. The newer generation C4 Picasso B78 typically has a bare roof with nothing factory-fitted. Crossbars for a bare roof are mounted using precisely shaped feet directly under the door frame.
You can easily attach a roof box for skis or camping gear, or bicycle holders, to the crossbars. Thanks to the side doors with a large entry opening and the reasonable height of the car, loading luggage is convenient since you can easily step onto the door sill. If you plan to carry high loads or a bulky box, take into account the overall height of the car when entering underground parking lots and garages.
