Crossbars for the second generation Honda HR-V designated as RU from 2015 to 2021. Before choosing a set, simply check the roof design of your car, as there are solutions available for two different mounting types.
With the RU generation, you will encounter two variants. Flush rails lie directly on the roof without a gap and the roof rack foot clamps them from both sides. A bare roof has nothing on it and the rack is secured using a mounting kit behind the door frame of the body.
Both mounting types require completely different feet and kits. Stand by the vehicle from the side and select the set designed precisely for your roof design.
The RU generation rolled off production lines from 2015 to 2021. However, right in 2021, the successor HR-V RV arrived, which has different roof dimensions. If you have a car manufactured in this transition year, check the generation code in your vehicle registration document. The first generation HR-V GH produced from 1999 to 2006 also requires a different solution.
Before attaching the feet, thoroughly wash and degrease the contact surfaces on the body or flush rails. Tiny grains of dust and sand could scratch the paint under the loaded rack while driving.
If you plan to carry a roof box, bicycle holders, or ski racks, verify the compatibility of their mounts with the profile of the selected crossbars. Remember that the total roof load includes the cargo, the box, and the crossbars themselves. You can find the maximum limit in the vehicle manual.
